Creating or Changing the Region of an Apple Account

App availability, payment methods, taxes, media licensing, and subscriptions differ between App Store regions. Apple allows an account’s country or region to be selected or changed when the account satisfies the applicable requirements.

Before changing regions

  • Spend any remaining store balance.
  • Cancel subscriptions and wait for them to end where Apple requires it.
  • Finish rentals, pre-orders, memberships, and pending refunds.
  • Leave Family Sharing if required.
  • Have a valid payment method and billing address for the new country or region.
  • Back up access to apps and media that may not be offered in the destination region.

Change an existing account on iPhone or iPad

  1. Open Settings, tap your name, then Media & Purchases.
  2. Choose View Account and authenticate.
  3. Select Country/Region → Change Country or Region.
  4. Review and accept the terms.
  5. Enter truthful billing and payment information accepted in that region.

You can also create an account through Apple’s official account and device setup flows. Use your own reachable email address or iCloud address, a strong unique password, and a phone number you control for verification and account recovery.

Do not buy shared accounts or use fabricated addresses and identities. Shared credentials can be reclaimed by the seller, expose personal data, and violate service terms. Region selection does not override local law, content licensing, or payment requirements. For current requirements, consult Apple’s official country/region guidance.
